Chapter Chairmen’s Job Descriptions

Ordeal

  • During Conclave and Reunion, responsible for putting together ceremonial lists of participants. Getting materials (sashes and candles) and separating them into proper numbers for ordeal teams, and distributing them.
  • Know how many teams you have and how they can be contacted.
  • Get the new members involved with the ritual Teams.
  • Coordinate the Ordeal ritual team meetings.
  • Prepare Ordeal teams for the Ceremonial Team Competitions and Reunions.
  • Responsible for summer site work. Organization and manpower along with plan of what to do. Work with Brotherhood chairman on this task.
  • Encourages participation in ceremonial teams.
  • Lead in creation of new ordeal teams.
  • Reports to 2nd Vice-Chief.

Brotherhood

  • During Conclave and Reunion, responsible for putting together Brotherhood Candidate lists for ceremonies. Getting materials (sashes and candles) and separating them into proper numbers for brotherhood teams, and distributing them.
  • Prepare Brotherhood teams for the Ceremonial Team Competitions and reunions.
  • Make sure we have brotherhood teams.
  • Encourage brotherhood conversion and raise the chapters brotherhood conversion rate.
  • Call past elangomats and get them to check up on their clans.
  • Work with Elangomat chairmen to communicate with new members and to talk about the upcoming meetings and events.
  • Run the Brotherhood ritual team meetings.
  • Responsible for summer site work. Organization and manpower along with plan of what to do. Work with Ordeal chairman on this task.
  • Reports to 2nd Vice-Chief.

Induction/Enrichment and Elangomat

  • In charge of getting required number of elangomats for conclaves and reunions.
  • Conduct training for all of the elangomats to help them better understand their job and responsibilities.
  • Chapter has a ratio of 10 to 1, candidates to elangomats at the conclave and reunion.
  • Makes clans list prior to event.
  • Work with the Troop Rep. and Brotherhood chairmen to contact the new members and get them involved.
  • Call all elangomats and have them call their clans to promote events.
  • Keep elangomats involved; it is a year long job.
  • Get new Ordeal members to achieve Brotherhood.
  • Contact and get new elangomats for the Fall Reunion and Spring Conclave.
  • Stress that being an elangomat is a year long commitment!
  • Reports to 2nd Vice-Chief.

Program

  • Organize and conduct four quality programs at chapter meetings in Nov., Feb., May, and Aug.
  • Find a program and place to hold the meeting at least one month before the meeting.
  • Make sure refreshments are served at all meetings.
  • As meeting approaches, verify the program and place.
  • Work with 1st Vice Chief in planning the February Fellowship Banquet.
  • Reports to 1st Vice Chief.

Service

  • Organize and lead service projects.
  • Fill in service projects forms to be turned in at LEC.
  • Come up with at least two new service project ideas.
  • Plan and get approval from lodge for all service projects.
  • Promote all service projects.
  • Work with Ordeal and Brotherhood chairmen on summer site prep. serive projects.
  • Assist candidates and elangomats on their workdays.
  • Reports to 1st Vice Chief.

Troop Representative

  • Get and keep an updated troop representative list.
  • Make sure the troop rep reports to troop members.
  • Call troop reps when asked by secretary.
  • Achieve 100% troop reps; a troop rep for every troop.
  • Work with elangomat chairmen to promote meetings and other OA functions to the new members.
  • Reports to Secretary.

Webmaster

  • Maintain Web Site.
  • Responds to and forwards email.
  • Post chairmen and officer updates.
  • Keep the Pathfinder web site up to date.
  • Change the appearance occasionally to attract visitors.
  • Keep links current.
  • Post upcoming events on the Shawnee Lodge web site.
  • Reports to Secretary.
